Some Family Pictures

Here are some pictures of my family. They are all a little old.

1. My favorite person besides Dave. I love my niece. This was her fourth birthday party in August. She was really excited to get her pages I hear. Methinks she is going to be a nerd as I.
2. My sister, mom, and me. My other sister wasn't there. This one is recent. It's from October.
3.This was Thanksgiving last year. It's how Christmas normally is for my family. Earlier there were more people, but they left before the picture. I believe nine people left before the picture.

Applying for Job Manana

So, the county is hiring seven clerks. No experience is required, so I'm going to apply manana. I have a few months of experience in office and type way above the required speed. That makes me hopeful. This job would be perfect for us. It would allow us to get an apartment. I would be able to get some dresses, skirts, and headcoverings. I would also be able to get the oh so important right now thermal underwear. We would have enough money for Dave to take some classes this semester. The few of you who read this, please pray that I get this job. Thank you guys. It's almost the day of the birth of Jesus.

Oh yes, Ginger already knows this, but Dave and I are going to go to a Conservative Mennonite church sometime. It's only an hour and a half away. I'm so excited. I've always wanted to go to one. We'll see how Dave does with it. I'm not sure how he's going to do because it's quite different from a Catholic Mass.

Skirts In Winter

So I took the plunge and for the last few days have been wearing skirts. I am currently wearing jeans under them, though, because I don't have the money to buy something else for the time being. It is quite warm this way. Just the extra layer of the skirt helps a ton. I'm going to keep wearing them this way until I cam get some money to get some other things to go under them.

Us

I thought I'd share a recent picture of Dave and me. It was taken in October when we went back to California for his immigration interview. My mom has a friend who is a professional photographer, and she took pictures of my mom, my middle sister, Dave, and me. My oldest sister and niece were supposed to be there, but somehow my niece has a black eye and huge scratch under her other eye.

Can't Sleep

It is now almost 2 AM, and I can not sleep. Sure, I'm usually still awake right now. However, I have to work from 6 AM-2:30 this morning. This is not going to be fun. I have to take dh to work at 3:30AM. At least he only has to work five hours, though. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I despise how my body works sometimes.

CitiBank

Please, never ever use CitiBank. We have had it for under six months and have had nothing but problems with them. We often have missing money. Then when we check the statements it doesn't add up. No one is using the account, so that isn't an issue. Yesterday Dave called and asked how much we had in our account. They said we had 130. Then today he called and they said we were overdrawn 55. Hello. We didn't use that much money in one day. All we bought was McDonalds, and we didn't have any previous charges that hadn't already cleared. This has happened numerous times before. Now we aren't going to be able to make this week's rent because we have to pay the stupid overdraft fee and everything else. Plus, we needed the money that was already in there. The only thing I can think it was would be his loan payment getting withdrawn. However, they told him that wasn't going to be taken out until the 29th. So, this is a word of warning. CitiBank is a bad bank that will steal your money. Yes, we are switching banks. All we have to do is send in the money to the new bank. This one is supposed to be a better bank. Plus, it isn't a national bank. Those ones are supposed to be better. Yes, I am sure this bank won't go under. It just bought another bank, so I'm pretty sure this one is fine.

Nifty Patterns

Ok, I got this from you Ginger. I love these patterns, and they really make me yearn for my sewing machine. I will get it shipped as soon as I can. However, she makes ePatterns now. My favorite part of that is that if you lose it you can just print another. Once I get some extra money I foresee ordering many of them. I plan to make at least one dress for my niece eventually. Here is the pattern site. http://www.sensibility.com/pattern/main/?page_id=50 . Sorry, I don't know how to turn the link into a work like you others do. I really like all of them, but since I'm new to it I'm going to get the Edwardian Apron. It'll help improve my skills until I can tackle the bigger projects.

Hello

So, New York didn't happen. We decided we weren't ready to move that far yet. So, we moved to the Chicago area instead. It's really nice here. Lots of trees and fewer people. I need to figure out the whole winter with skirts thing. We don't have much money at all for me to get new clothes. I guess we'll have to see if the thrift store has any good thicker skirts on sale. I went to WalMart to look for long underwear and couldn't find any. This socal girl is completely clueless.

Vacation and Skirts

Here is what happened on my vacation. Dh and I just got back a few hours ago. We drove four hours north of here to the lovely town of Cayucos, CA. It's the last little beach town left in CA. I love it there. I've been going there every year since I was born. Never missed a year. I finally got dh up there. We loved it so much we decided to move there. There's a really good college, affordable rentals, lots of jobs, and it's just a great place. We looked at an apartment on the main drag (of course there really is only one drag in town) with an ocean view that's being comepletely redone for 1050. We were there since Friday night. Most of what was done was just my grandma and me showing him around. We stayed in Cayucos. One day we went to Morro Bay, and I showed him the dorment volcano that he doesn't believe is a volcano. The next day we went to Cambria. It's a foresty town that is a few feet away from the ocean. We also went into San Luis Obispo because dh wanted to see a movie.

In other news the test I previously mentioned has been working well. I've worn a skirt everyday since then. I even did on my vacation even though it was quite cold. The first day my grandma said I looked liked I was in the FLDS. I was wearing a long skirt and a shirt with long sleeves. I think I'll stick with these. I've also ordered three headcoverings.

A Test

I've been really drawn to switching to skirts/dresses only. Up until now I've really only been wearing them to church. Starting manana I'm going to wear them for as many days straight as I can. I'll post pictures if I remember to.

NYC

So, dh and I are moving to NYC sometime next month. The tentative date is July 28 because we have tickets to go to Chicago that day. From there we will drive his sisters car that she's giving him to NY. We can change the date, though, if we find jobs in advanced. We will be selling the car when we get there. Don't worry. We aren't going to be trying to drive around the city. You know, moving across the country is difficult. We look at apartments just to see what we can expect to get and then fall in love with one. That does no good because it won't be available in a month. Most places there require three months rent when you move in, too. That's going to be the most difficult part. We know it's going to work out, though. It's up to God.

We are planning on adoption in the near future. We have found a few sibling sets that we are very much interested in. One is a set of three boys from California, and one is a set of three girls from NY. We're just in the planning stages, though, since we can't get a homestudy done until we move. So, look for some more information about that to come in the future.

Well, gotta go to work. Thanks for reading.

Hi

What's up? After many years of Internet I decided to start a blog. In case you don't know me I'll let you know some basic information. My name is Kimberly. I'm 22, and was married in December. I was born and raised in southern California, but will soon be leaving for the big city. I love sports, tv, movies, reading, writing, and learning. I was raised a non-denominational Christian, but recently converted to Catholicsm. I do not believe in everything the Catholic church believes in, but it was the closest to my beliefs. Also, my dh is Catholic and it would make things less confusing for any future children. I probably won't talk a lot about my faith on here because I am leery of bashing. I get it from my family all the time. That's all I can think of. Go Dodgers.
